DEPRECATION NOTICE
This CCB documentation has been superseded by our new website: https://lumin.imm.ox.ac.uk
OVERVIEW
When WIMM staff upload data to our systems on your behalf, an automated process creates an archive file for download and sends you an e-mail. This page describes how to access the file and how to extract the data in it.
THE DATA ARCHIVE
You will receive an e-mail telling you the exact name of your new archive and its location. All archives are named according to the pattern
NAME_OF_YOUR_SAMPLE-ID_NUMBER.tar
and are stored in
/miseq.
A typical name and full path would thus be
/miseq/201014_NB501183_0835_AHTHH2BGXG-1641976792.tar.
This file is only readable by you, so as to keep your data safe. However, it is important to note that you cannot edit or delete it and that the file will only remain available for 28 days after creation. After this, it will be automatically removed.
COPYING YOUR DATA
-
- Change into the directory that you want your new data to be stored in
- Use the command
tar -xf /miseq/YOUR_FULL_ARCHIVE_NAME.tar
- Your data is now in the folder that was just created with the same name as your archive but without the ID number or the
tar
suffix
GETTING HELP
You can email the CCB team using the email address
help@imm.ox.ac.uk.
Using this address ensures your email is logged and assigned a tracking number, and will go to all the core team, which means the appropriate person or people will be able to pick it up.
